United States : WOOD GROUP buys KELCHNER INC.

Wood Group has bought a privately-owned US-based provider of construction and energy field services, Kelchner Inc., which will operate within the onshore business of Wood Group PSN Americas.

Kelchner Inc. will offer construction capabilities mainly to the midstream and upstream oil and gas sector in the Marcellus and Utica shale basins, and broader industrial sectors.

The company serves the energy and industrial markets offering turnkey compressor and metering stations, civil work, fabrication, roustabout and well pad and roadway construction services.

Kelchner works from headquarters in Springboro, Ohio, and other sites in Eastern USA. CEO Todd Kelchner will head the present management team and nearly 375 personnel.

The acquisition of Kelchner adds to Wood Groups geographical footprint in the major US shale regions, extending our presence to Marcellus and Utica, where we will leverage Kelchners 65 years of expertise to enhance our client service provision, said Dave Stewart, Wood Group PSN CEO. Kelchners construction and energy services strongly complement Wood Groups engineering capabilities, positioning both companies well for continued success in the region.

Our company is driven by a passion for continuous improvement and innovative methods. Our mission, values, dedicated people and strategic diversification across energy, industrial and general construction markets greatly contributed to our past successes. Joining Wood Group PSN, a company that shares our values and culture, positions us for future success as we continue to strive to exceed our clients expectations, added Todd Kelchner, CEO of Kelchner Inc.
