United States : Udall, Kaine, Senators File Bipartisan Iran Amendment to NDAA to Prevent Unauthorized War.

U.S. Senators Tom Udall (D-N.M.) and Tim Kaine (D-Va.), along with U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), and Rand Paul (R-Ky.), filed a bipartisan amendment to the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to prohibit funds from being used for military operations against Iran without explicit authorization from Congress. The senators are seeking a vote by the full Senate to reassert Congress Constitutional authority over war powers during consideration of the NDAA, which is expected to begin next week.
