United States : UNITED STATES COAST GUARD approves eGlobe ECDIS system.

Approval has been granted by the United States Coast Guard, through the US Department of Homeland Security for the eGlobe ECDIS system from ChartWorld.

According to Chart World, eGlobe ECDIS is a part of an ECDIS as a Service concept, one module in a package along with ENCs (with its Advanced ChartWorld ENC Service (ACES)), customised maintenance and training.

The eGlobe ECDIS is able to be supplied pre-filled with data and with onboard software tools such as ChartBrowser and the UKHO eNavigator, to support automatic route creation, chart ordering, and online updating.

It is noted that Pay As You Sail and other emergency chart data services are also available.
