United States : T-Mobile Increases Mobile Speeds by up to 50% in Miami.

On the heels of recent LTE upgrades across the U.S., T-Mobile today announced that Miami, FL is the latest area to get up to a 50% increase in LTE mobile speeds from a Wideband LTE upgrade. In addition to the greater Miami area, LTE customers in the Ft. Lauderdale and Pompano Beach areas are also experiencing super-fast download speeds, making access to their favorite mobile content seem almost instantaneous. In December, T-Mobile customers in the Miami area observed download speeds as high as 75 Mbps.

Wideband LTE increases the bandwidth and capacity of T-Mobile s LTE network to help deliver faster peak speeds. It is like adding more lanes to a freeway for all LTE customers to speed along in. With T-Mobile s Wideband LTE, customers can download a full 90 minute HD movie to their phone or tablet in three and half minutes or a whole album in just nine seconds with theoretical peak download speeds of 110 Mbps.

With the average download speed in the Miami area recently clocking in at 20.5 Mbps, Miami customers are using on average 2.15 GB of data per month.

Wideband LTE is just the latest upgrade we ve brought to the Miami area. Our customers have been enjoying innovations like HD Voice and Wi-Fi Calling on our Data Strong network for years, said Bentley Alexander, Regional Vice President South, Engineering at T-Mobile. Now T-Mobile LTE customers in the area are also going to notice a jump in their mobile speeds, whether downloading the hottest music or Skyping faraway friends and family.

Miami is just the latest area to get a speed boost, as the Un-carrier continues to expand coverage and enhance performance of its 4G LTE network.
