United States : PARISH Council approves $58M operating spending plan.

The St. Bernard Parish Council has approved an operating budget of nearly $58 million for 2015.

The council granted the final approval to the budget last week.

The spending plan includes $25.2 million in expenditure from the parish's general fund and $32.3 million from its special revenues fund, which includes an amount for services like sanitation, public works and fire protection.

That is comparable with $29.4 million in estimated general fund revenue and $29.8 million in anticipated special earnings.

The 2015 spending plan predicts sales tax collections of about $12.8 million.

It calls to invest nearly $70 million on capital projects, with most of the amount $45.7 million coming in federal disaster relief grants.
