Alaskan & Proud was acquired by the Washington State s Clinton-based retail and realty management entity and signed the lease deal on Friday for the 47,000-square-foot retail space in Foodland Plaza.
Myers called from Seattle to state that, As of this morning we finally got everything taken care of. He went to Juneau recently and stated that he was happy to see the business. Every staff of the store expressed their willingness to continue.
Myers has stated that he has strategy for redecorations, and expansions plus inclusion of a few departments. He has added that there are some easy works to be completed and will increase the store s usefulness to the society. He hopes to initiate the revamp in the existing space by a period of 6 months to one year. He has stated that he thinks the store will be enclosed in the leased space without spreading out to other areas of the building.
Verifying the deal on Friday, Foodland Inc s Gary Rosenberger stated, Our family is truly pleased with the results of our search for a new operator to anchor the Foodland Center. He added, The Myers Group seems to have exactly the right experience, skills and approach to their business that will make them a perfect fit for us and Juneau. Their commitment to upgrading the store and their successful grocery business tells us they are highly motivated to provide a community driven shopping experience.
Myers group started work with one grocery store in 1978, but now owns 5 more plus three service stations, plus same number of TrueValue Hardware stores along with 2 other retail businesses. It has developed into a retail management company that also tenders support services to the start-ups and the developers of shopping mall, and so on.
Myers said, We love being a staple in our community. We continually participate in scholarship programs for the local high schools, sponsor community programs, host food bank & pet shelter drives, and give back to our communities as much as we can. Many of our weekly promotions are geared towards helping out the community.
Juneau Real Estate s John Williams negotiated the deal and he individually visited several Myers Group stores to look over their quality. Tyler Myers is an experienced retailer a quality guy and someone who knows how to empower those around him to provide the best possible shopping experience for their customers, stated Williams. He has added that Alaska Marine Lines part in the deal was major as it proposed the Myers Group as a promising business to acquire the store.
Alaskan & Proud s present co-holder Suzanne Williams has revealed that an inventory will happen Sept. 8 whilst the store is kicked off.
