United States : MGUE wins $8.5 million modification to pace up MGUE program.

A $8.5 million modification has been presented by L-3 Communications to the Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE) deal to speed up the MGUE program.

The objective is to speed up delivery of upgraded, more powerful GPS receivers to warfighters.

The projects next phase of L-3 covers procurement of pre-prototype receiver card deliveries as well as test support activities. The receiver card deliveries will greatly increase the fielding of Military Code (M-code) capable GPS receivers to soldiers.

It is expected that the work would be executed in L-3 Communications Anaheim, California, location, with an expected completion date of Sept. 30, 2016. Fiscal 2015 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $1,814,560 are being obligated at the time of award.

The contracting activity is the Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California.
