Telemedicine kiosk firm HealthSpot said its biggest customer Rite Aid, that it intent to end services. As an outcome, it has closed its kiosks in Rite Aid pharmacies all over Ohio.

It is presently unsure if HealthSpot is closing its business fully or simply its collaboration with Rite Aid.

HealthSpot kiosks were configured to permit patients to link with doctors remotely, and do basic checkups making use of the machine's self-service medical devices.

Rite Aid said, "On Monday, Dec. 28, Rite Aid was notified by HealthSpot of its intention to cease operations effective Thursday, Dec. 31 ... Rite Aid appreciated the opportunity to offer HealthSpot services to our patients and customers over the past year."

"We believe very much in the value of telehealth and will continue to explore options to offer such services in the future."

HealthSpot has not replied to any requests for comments. Recently, the firm had been managing a patent dispute with different firm.

It is unsure if this lawsuit is connected to the firm ending its collaboration with Rite Aid.
