United States : Gallagher buys Gabor Insurance.

Gabor Insurance Services Inc. and its arm, American Professional Liability Underwriters, based in Miami, have been bought by Illinois' Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Gabor operates as a managing general agency and excess and surplus lines insurance broker focused on commercial property principals which includes architects and engineers, lawyers and health care professionals across the U.S.' southeastern region.

The Gabor team of Ronald Gabor, Michael Gabor, Robert Kenney and their associates will still operate from their four current Florida locations in Miami, Sebastian, Boca Raton and Tampa while reporting to Joel Cavaness, who is president of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.'s subsidiary company, Risk Placement Services.

The Gabor company has been a fixture in Florida for over 6 decades. As a company unassociated with a retail agency, Gabor Insurance Services belongs to the Independent Insurance Agents of South Florida IIASF) and has operated American Professional Liability Underwriters Inc. as its arm for over 20 years.

J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., the acquiring company's chairman, president and CEO, said, "We are always looking for partners that promote product alternatives, expand our sales and service presence and align with our key markets. Gabor's depth of experience, focus on client service and product specializations will be great complements to Risk Placement Services' niche practice capabilities."
