United States : Fidelis Care Partners with North Country Chamber of Commerce to Help Residents Access Health Insurance.

In an effort to make quality, affordable health insurance coverage more easily accessible to families, individuals, and children, Fidelis Care announces a partnership with the North Country Chamber of Commerce. Fidelis Care s NY State of Health products will be available through the Chamber s licensed health insurance brokers at Plattsburgh-North Country Service Corporation.

No one should be without health insurance, said Fidelis Care Chief Marketing Officer Pamela Hassen. While Fidelis Care representatives work throughout the North Country to reach the uninsured, this partnership with the North Country Chamber of Commerce provides an additional opportunity for people who need coverage to learn about Fidelis Care s affordable products and apply for enrollment.

Our long standing commitment is to provide access to a range of health insurance choices for small businesses, the self-employed, and individuals and their families throughout the North Country, states Garry Douglas, President of the North Country Chamber. We are very pleased to now offer access to Fidelis Care through our licensed, trained professionals, and can assist people both on and off the health exchange.

In the area served by the North Country Chamber of Commerce, Fidelis Care offers NY State of Health metal-level products in Franklin, Hamilton, Warren, Washington, and St. Lawrence counties. Licensed health insurance brokers at Plattsburgh-North Country Service Corporation can explain the coverage options and assist with enrollment. They can also provide information about New York State-sponsored programs Medicaid and Child Health Plus, which are available through Fidelis Care in all counties served by the North Country Chamber.

The North Country Chamber and the Plattsburgh-North Country Service Corp. are the official providers of health insurance services to the Malone, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Schroon Lake, Ticonderoga, North Warren, Gore Mountain Region, Stony Creek, Indian Lake and Adirondack Speculator Region Chambers of Commerce, as well as ROOST, the Whiteface Region Business and Tourism Center and the Inlet Area Business Association.

Enrollment in metal-level products through NY State of Health primarily takes place during the open enrollment period, which will begin on November 15 for coverage effective on January 1, 2015. However, people who apply within 60 days of the date of a qualifying event may be eligible. Qualifying events are life changes such as: marital status, number of dependents, employment status, place of residence, or loss of employer-sponsored coverage. Enrollment in Medicaid and Child Health Plus are year-round.
