United States : FEDERAL GOVT. grants $8.5 million, 5-year US deal University of Michigan's Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center.

A $8.5 million, five year deal has been granted by federal government to the University of Michigan's Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center for setting up the United States Renal Data System and national data system allocates, analyzes and distributes information about patients with chronic kidney disease.

On 20th February, university declared the deal stating that approx 13% of Americans have chronic kidney disease and every year 100,000 Americans raises the final stage end-stage kidney disease that needs to be dialysis or a kidney transplant.

Furthermore, National Institutes of Health and the Centers and coordinating center works on

Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide a range of data services.
