United States : DRAGOON ITCN secures AFRL contract to upgrade aircraft tester.

Dragoon ITCN, a Centerville-area company, has announced the securing of a $1.4 million contract from Air Force Research Laboratory.

Under the Small Business Innovation Research program, the company has won the contract to upgrade a cable networks tester. The tester is also known as BCIT (short for Bus Characterization and Integrity Toolset) and is used to detect problems in cables that send control signals throughout older aircraft.

Tim Myers, sales manager, stated that developed by the company years ago, Dragoon ITCN will work to add extra capabilities to the tester under the new contract "It's already a unique piece of equipment. We're going to make it even more powerful," Myers further added.

Dragoon ITCN's success under the new AFRL deal could also support it make more commercial sales. The company has already appointed two new employees because of the contract and is positioning its BCIT to be the "swiss army knife" of cable testers, according to Myers.

Established in 2013, Dragoon ITCN is a woman-owned small business with 13 employees, slightly over half of which are here in the Dayton area. It provides aerospace products and services, specifically test equipment for computer systems on military aircraft, and has offices in Winchester, Va. and Warner Robins, Ga.
