United States : CBP's Office of Field Operations in Florida Deploys Personnel to Support Harvey Relief Effort.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations Disaster Assistance Response Team with 35 officers from across Florida has deployed to Texas to aid federal, state, and local agencies helping those in need as part of the multi-faceted federal response to Harvey.Miami/Tampa Field Office Disaster Assistance Response Team.

The team departed before dawn in a convoy from Miami's seaport on Tuesday with boats, trucks and rescue equipment ready to support ongoing operations and the subsequent recovery effort.

CBP personnel from around the nation are being called in to action and working tirelessly to help those in need," said Miami Seaport Port Director Dylan DeFrancisci, who is spearheading the team's relief efforts. "We're prepared to remain in the Texas area as long as needed."

CBP Office of Field Operations in Florida includes more than 2,500 front-line federal officers, agricultural specialists, trade and mission support personnel securing over 1,200 miles of the coastal border and providing travel and trade facilitation.

As in previous emergency situations, U.S. Customs and Border Protections emergency response is conducted in accordance with the Department of Homeland Securitys National Response Framework.
