United States : Alex Oh Selected for Inaugural American Bar Association Top 40 Young Lawyers Award.

The law firm of Stoel Rives LLP is very pleased to announce that partner Alex Oh, based in the firms Seattle office, has been selected for the inaugural American Bar Association On the Rise Top 40 Young Lawyers Award. The 40 recipients, who were chosen from several thousand nominations, were selected for their reputation as outstanding lawyers and for their service to the public. This year's honorees will be recognized in the print edition of the August ABA Journal, the Summer print edition of the ABA Young Lawyers Divisions TYL and online.

I've really enjoyed watching Alex develop his practice with us, beginning as a junior associate following service as a state supreme court intern. Alex Oh is an intellectual property lawyer whose practice focuses on helping large and small biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and chemical industry companies and research institutions to protect their cutting-edge technologies. He also devotes significant time to strategic intellectual property counseling, pre-litigation patent analysis, intellectual property litigation, post-grant proceedings, patent opinions, patent portfolio management, product clearance and freedom-to-operate assessments, and IP due diligence and transactions.

Alex also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Washington School of Law and teaches courses in intellectual property. Since 2011, Alex has acted as Cooperating Counsel/Pro Bono Attorney for Legal Voice and Montana Human Rights Network. He currently serves on the board of the QLaw Association of Washington and is its Immediate Past President. In addition, Alex was recently awarded the 2016 Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 Award by the National LGBT Bar Association and the 2016 Washington LGBT Leadership Award by the Washington Diversity Council.

Alex is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School (J.D., 2010), the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (M.S., Biotechnology, 2010) and the University of Washington (B.S., Neurobiology, B.A., Communications, 2006).
