United States : AMERICAN TRANSMISSION COMPANY applies to construct transmission lines.

American Transmission Company declared that it has applied to build two transmission lines in northeast Wisconsin. A state agency will consider a formal proposal for the project.

American Transmission Company requires the 345- and 138-kilovolt lines to span from the Freedom area to Oconto County.

Official Jackie Olson commented that the possible routes have not changed. She says they submitted two options, and they were the same ones that were unveiled at a public meeting, about a year ago. They need the lines to keep up with demand, and to alleviate concerns about the reliability of the system.

The Public Service Commission will study the application, and make a decision, within this year.
