United States : $16 million RUNWAY project completed at BIORE FIELD.

On Friday, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Biore Field that indicated the completion of $16 million runway project.

Grant provided from the FAA backed the relocation of Runway 14/32 to improve safety. The project moved the runway 300 feet to the north. It moreover increased the runway by 500 feet to house larger aircraft.

Acting FAA Administrator Michael Huerta said: This project will provide critical safety improvements for an airport that serves as a reliever for Boston s Logan Airport. said

The airport hopes to restart complete operation on Nov. 15, when the instrument approach procedures are published and every navigational aid is relocated.

AIP gives $3.35 billion in annual funding for projects that are important to maintaining the safety, capacity, and environmental stewardship of our airports. Over 3,300 airports are eligible for AIP grants providing benefits to commercial passengers, cargo operations, and general aviation activities all through the nation.
