"Enterprise Service Portal" Provides Unprecedented Level of

Outsourced E-mail Information and System Control to Clients

United Messaging(R), the leading enterprise messaging services provider, today unveiled a new service that will provide clients with access to unprecedented levels of reporting and control.

The new Enterprise Service Portal, or ESP, is a secure, simple-to-use and personalized web-based portal, customized for large enterprise user populations. It provides client users and e-mail administrators with 24/7 access to a variety of information and management resources.

ESP will become an integral part of United Messaging's client care and help desk support program. It offers a direct and immediate link to information that will enable business and technical administrators to control and manage their hosted e-mail services, including usage and operational reports, up-to-date billing data, project management and tracking, as well as a full complement of online mailbox administrative tools and applications. ESP also incorporates a knowledgebase and help desk FAQs.

Using ESP, a hosted client operating United Messaging's patent-pending Message Control(SM) , will be able to monitor the volume of e-mail, what viruses have been intercepted and stopped, and how efficiently the system is functioning. Message Control is the company's e-mail management service that provides virus protection and helps organizations effectively manage e-mail traffic and enforce e-mail security, privacy and appropriate use policies.

ESP would also enable that client to see mailbox statistics, project management information, and which users are accessing the help desk. They could also get answers to e-mail related questions.

ESP is customizable by the user and provides three levels of access:
-- LEVEL 1 - Designed for Base Level End Users. Provides the ability to access
and search a knowledgebase for answers to e-mail questions. They can also
access user documentation, general gadgets (e.g. news feeds) and download
applicable software.

-- LEVEL 2 - Designed for Technical Administrators. In addition to Level 1
access and availability, Level 2 provides access to reports and mailbox
administration tools such as help desk and trouble ticket reports as well as
the ability to manage mailbox accounts. If applicable, they also have access to
administrative tools for Message Control.

-- LEVEL 3 - Designed for Business Administrators. In addition to Level 2
access, Level 3 provides access to financial information. Planned enhancements
to this level include links to contract related details.

ESP is a new feature for United Messaging, included in all of their hosted messaging service offerings. Beta testing is now complete, with delivery to clients planned for August 2001.
