United Kingdom : Starview Technology partners with Logica.

StrackingStarview Technology, a provider of event-driven solutions, and Logica, a provider of business and technology services, have partnered on a Real-Time Demand Automator, or RTDA, to help utilities take control of domestic demand on the electricity infrastructure.

Distribution network operators responsible for delivering electricity from the transmission network to end customers, have an event-driven tool to manage the expected demand within the capacity of their existing network infrastructure, the company said.

Starview Technology and Logica have partnered to produce a solution that utilizes an Analytical Event Processing to monitor and control power demand and distribution.

The solution is built on the Starview Smart Enterprise Platform which enables business users to detect patterns of behavior, such as faults, fraud, threats, out-of-control processes, gain insight into these patterns and predict outcomes, and drive actions based on the insights. Its event servers for building, testing and deploying event-processing applications; enterprise hubs for controlling a distributed environment; and simulation servers can be combined to produce tailored solutions.

RTDA has been installed in Logica's UK innovation center and will be installed in Logica's Portuguese innovation center specializing in utility solutions.

Thomas Sulzbacher, CEO of Starview Technology, said: "We are very pleased to announce our partnership with Logica and to simultaneously bring to market our first joint solution. Our experience with real-time, event-driven systems in utilities is complemented by Logica's strong domain expertise, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership."
