United Kingdom : LawDeb says farewell to Sue Timbrell on her retirement.

On the eve of her retirement, the LawDeb Pensions team celebrated Sue Timbrell's ten years with the team.

Over dinner at the RAC club Mark Ashworth, Chair of LawDeb Pension Trustees gave his heartfelt thanks to Sue for the support she has given him and the wider the LawDeb team during her time at LawDeb. Also joining Sue were her husband, Alan, together with Veronica Fulton and Antony Macwhinnie, two of Sue's former colleagues.

Sue has proved equally popular with her clients as with her LawDeb colleagues and many have expressed sadness on hearing of her retirement. Over her time at LawDeb Sue has represented many schemes, with assets ranging from 75 million to over 4 billion. Of the eleven schemes she represented at the time of her retirement, she chaired six. This schedule has not left her much time to enjoy her garden or her new granddaughter who can expect to see far more of her now that she has chaired her final meeting.

In a career spanning 51 years Sue has achieved an enormous amount and had a great impact on all of the organisations in which she has worked. This was recognised in 2003 when she was awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours. Before joining Law Debenture, Sue was Director of Pensions at Transport for London. Sue was an elected member of the PLSA investment council.

Sue will be hugely missed around trustee tables and the LawDeb office, but we hope we can persuade her to return occasionally bringing her optimism and enthusiasm for pensions with her.

Sue has passed the trusteeship baton to a number of existing and new members of the Law Debenture team. In the last 12 months Anna Eagles, Andy Harrison, Mike Jaffe, Robert Thomas and Venetia Trayhurn have joined the Law Debenture trustee team, from a wide range of backgrounds.
