United Kingdom : Bridgestone Europe extends commitment to outsource IT management to Fujitsu.

As it aims to boost IT services support for its European Strategic Business Units, Fujitsu has announced that Bridgestone Europe is extending its commitment to outsource IT management to the company.

Bridgestone Europe can focus on delivering innovation in its own core business areas, by entrusting Fujitsu with its IT infrastructure and application management.

Bridgestone Europe, which is part of the world's major tire and rubber firm, and Fujitsu are taking a cooperative, joint development approach.

Fujitsu is supporting Bridgestone Europe on an IT strategy to devise and deploy a combination of services that deliver the most value and remain in tune with the tire company's unique needs.

Michael Johnson, Vice President of IT at Bridgestone Europe, said, "Our corporate philosophy, the Bridgestone Essence, focuses on delivering world class products and solution services to our customers. By collaborating with Fujitsu for the ongoing transformation of our IT infrastructure, we can strike the optimum balance between short term benefits and long term gain. Furthermore, this contract means that we can direct all our energy and expertise into developing innovative solutions that will keep us at the forefront of our industry."

Duncan Tait, SEVP and Head of EMEIA and Americas region at Fujitsu, added, "By partnering with companies like Bridgestone Europe, we are enabling them to focus on their core business goals and embrace new opportunities using their underlying IT infrastructure as a business enabler. We see this renewal as a seal of approval for Fujitsu from Bridgestone Europe, which continues to entrust us to manage its entire IT infrastructure."
