United Business Media plc Appoints New Chief Financial Officer.

LONDON, July 10 /PRNewswire/ --

United Business Media plc (Nasdaq: UNEWY) today announces the appointment of Nigel Wilson as Chief Financial Officer and a director of United Business Media in succession to Charles Stern who resigned for health reasons in February of this year.

Nigel has been managing director of Viridian Capital since 2000 and was group finance director of Viridian Group plc from 1996 to 2000. Before that he was group finance director of Waste Management International plc and head of corporate finance and commercial director for Dixons plc and a consultant at McKinsey. Nigel will take up his appointment and directorship on 1 August 2001.

Andrew Crow, group financial controller, is today appointed deputy chief financial officer.
