United Arab Emirates : LRAD wins supplementary deal from GCC countries.

LRAD Corporation has won a supplementary $660,000 deal to sell its LRAD 500X product and accessories to two member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the Middle East.

In doing so the corporation has followed up on its recent global orders for $1.8 million in sales of its long range acoustic hailing devices to police agencies in Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Enabling public safety personnel to release authoritative and readily understandable voice communications and warning tones that safely set up standoff zones, de-escalate tense situations and save lives on both sides of the Long Range Acoustic Device, the LRAD systems produce highly intelligible voice broadcasts from 300 meters to more than 3.5 kilometers.

LRAD guarantees voice communications in all languages and can be clearly heard and understood over crowd and traffic noise, and inside buildings and vehicles, because of its extended frequency range.

President and CEO of LRAD, Tom Brown, said : 'These orders reflect the continued value that the Gulf Cooperation Council members see in the LRAD 500X, that allows for intelligible mass communication and effective public safety and crowd management. The 500X units in these orders will be securely mounted to public safety vehicles, providing for mobility and fast response when and where needed for communication.'
