United Arab Emirates : Drydocks World win the Shell best HSE initiative award 2014-2015.

Drydocks World the international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors have been recognized at the Shell Contractor Workshop Awards for the best HSE initiative in 2014-2015. The award ceremony was held at the Radisson Blu Edwardian in Heathrow, UK on October 15th and the award has been given to Drydocks World s President and COO, Dr. C.S. Kim.

Drydocks World has received the award for the introduction of Chariot Robotic equipment for hydro-blasting on the vessels hulls which helps in reducing health, safety and environmental risk and offers consistent quality and increased efficiency. As part of the introduction various tests, including emission tests and waste generation tests were carried out on a periodic basis, to assess the performance of the chariot robotic machines and their impact on Health, Safety and Environmental aspects. The technology is set to replace the existing grit blasting process.

Alongside this initiative the shipyard has also implemented large covered painting chambers with four seasons temperature controlled de-humidification and vacuum cleaning facilities.

Drydocks World constantly aims to enhance its workplace for its staff and the surrounding environment by implementing such outstanding initiatives in HSE Drydocks World continues to target enhanced awareness of excellence in health, safety as well as green and renewable energy technology, all of which contribute to strengthening Dubai s overall HSE initiatives. Drydocks World has earned widespread recognition for the health, safety and environmental initiatives launched in the yard, receiving several distinguished awards.
