AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

United Airlines has launched a post-holiday fare sale.

The sale is aimed at stimulating demand during what is traditionally a slow period in the industry.

United's sale fares, which must be purchased by 9 January for roundtrip flights through to 7 March, were matched by American Airlines, Delta Air Lines Inc, Northwest Airlines, US Airways Group and Continental Airlines, according to air travel website FareCompare.
