Unique Software Creates Ornamental Borders; Ornamatica From JASC Makes Designing And Creating Custom Borders A Snap -- Ends Frustrating Problem For Desktop Publishers.

MINNETONKA, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1996--JASC, Incorporated, a leading developer of graphics and multimedia software, today announced the release of Ornamatica.

This novel new program creates custom decorative borders for such applications as awards, advertisements, certificates, signs and menus.

Prior to the release of Ornamatica, anyone who wanted an ornamental border was stuck. Not only were they forced to select from a limited -- and boring -- selection of clip art borders, they had to worry about the distortion resulting from sizing these borders for their particular application.

Ornamatica creates borders from small graphic images, repeating or alternating them in a way that is decorative, yet does not lose the integrity or esthetic value of the original design. Tiles within the border can be flipped, resized and rotated as necessary. In addition, the dimensions, tile size and the spacing of the border may be easily changed.

Ornamatica is designed to appeal to anyone who has ever been frustrated trying to create graphic borders, whether for backyard sale signs or professional quality award certificates.

In addition to creating borders from their own graphics, users may select from over 5,000 design elements supplied with Ornamatica. These include simple milled lines, ornate certificates, illustrations and theme borders.

Ornamatica is available in 16- and 32-bit versions for Windows 3.X and Windows 95. The MSRP is $39.

Earlier this year JASC introduced Paint Shop Pro 4.0, the latest in the acclaimed Paint Shop Pro series of graphic image editors.
