Union Oil Co. of California.

A signed letter of intent will allow Union Oil Co. of California to acquire all of Shell Oil's facilities at the Wilmington manufacturing complex in Carson, CA, except the lubricants compounding plant, which Shell would retain. The proposed purchase includes Shell's coker, crude oil distilling unit, hydrogen plant, gas oil hydrotreater, sulfur plant and related tankage and equipment. Shell plans to shut down its remaining refinery operations at the Dominguez site but will continue to operate the lube oil compounding and product terminalling and storage facilities at the complex.
