Unilever spits out bakery supplier.

Persil-to-Oxo consumer products giant Unilever continued its portfolio rebalancing act yesterday with the agreed sale of its European Bakery Supplies Business to Dutch foods group CSM for pounds 440 million.

Unilever has made been at the centre of several big deals this year as it moves to focus on stronger brands and faster growth.

Since its announcement, Unilever has spent several billion pounds in the US to snap up SlimFast diet products, Ben & Jerry's ice-cream and Best Foods, which includes Knorr soups, Hellmann's mayonnaise and Marmite.
