Undercharge bill passes in House.

The National Beer Wholesalers Association has reported that the Truck Undercharge Bill has passed in the House, with Senate passage expected soon. The bill, formally known as the Negotiated Rates Act of 1993, passed 292-116.

According to the NBWA, the act will significantly reduce claims against beer wholesalers. In the NBWA Beer Perspectives newsletter, the association reported that under the bill, "If a beer wholesaler qualifies as a small business, their liability will be zero. If they don't, the wholesaler has the option of paying up to 20 percent of the claim or challenging it before the ICC."
