Uncertainty as post office is closed down.

EFFORTS are being made to restore sub post offices services in an area of Stockton. The business, which included the sub-post office in Grange Avenue, closed this month. Local resident and member of the Grangefield Labour Party, Mike Clark, pictured left, told the Gazette: "This is a key community facility and we want to know as soon as possible what interim arrangements are being made and what is the long term future of the sub post office serving this area. "It is a great shame for the owner of the business and the residents that the shop has had to close.

We hope it will reopen again as it as been a vibrant enterprise." A Post Office Ltd spokesman said: "Grange Estate Post Office closed temporarily on Friday 21, January for operational reasons. "We're doing all we can to restore service as soon as possible.

Customers can use nearby Durham Road Post Office."
