Unannounced load shedding: SHC orders NEPRA to initiate action against K-electric.

Karachi -- Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered NEPRA to take action against K-electric for its unannounced load shedding in Karachi.

SHC, a day before on Monday had reserved its decision on miscellaneous petitions, filed against K-electric for carrying out unannounced load shedding in Karachi city. This Verdict has been announced.

The court in its decision has remarked that NEPRA had declared area wise load shedding 'illegal' on January 22, 2016, therefore K-electric should implement NEPRA orders immediately.

The court while ordering NEPRA to initiate action against K-electric remarked NEPRA can take action against K-Electric in accordance with law. .

It is vital to mention here that duration unannounced load shedding along with scheduled load shedding is becoming prolonged in Karachi while two major power breakdowns in Karachi during the current week landed people in trouble. .
