Ukraine : Still more HIV/AIDS patients will be provided with antiretroviral therapy.

In the Ministry of Health of Ukraine there was a briefing on the results of negotiations with international pharmaceutical companies to provide antiretroviral drugs for HIV/AIDS patients with participation of Tatyana Alexandrine, the Chairman of State Service of Ukraine on combating HIV-infection/AIDS and other socially dangerous diseases, Volodymyr Zhovtyak, Head of the Coordination Council of the All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH and Dmytro Pidturkin, adviser of the Minister of Health.

Following negotiations, pharmaceutical companies have provided the Ministry of Health offers about their own initiatives to ensure patients with additional medications. Implementing these proposals will enable the Ministry of Health this year to cover about 1,800 new patients with additional treatment. Drugs will have been provided by pharmaceutical companies enter into the basic schemes of antiretroviral therapy of the first line.
