Ugandan President meets Kuwaiti parliament speaker.

| KAMPALA, April 3 (KUNA) -- Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday met with Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Ahmad Al-Saadoun and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, President Museveni praised bilateral relations between Uganda and Kuwait, describing them as "historical." He especially applauded a 100-million-dollar donation Kuwait had given out to the African Development Fund, at the time of the Iraqi invasion, praising the Kuwaiti government for what it did, considering the circumstances.

On his part, Al-Saadoun praised Uganda's political stances on Arab issues, notably in supporting a UN decision to condemn Zionism as racist behavior in guilt, condemnation, and rejection.

Al-Saadoun went on to affirm Kuwait's role in assisting developing countries through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in providing funds for the development of projects in those countries. (end) KUNA 031728 Apr 12NNNN
