 UZBEKISTAN BECOMES MEMBER OF IMF
 WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Uzbekistan became a member


of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today when Faizullah M. Mulladzhanov, chairman of the board of the Control Bank, signed the IMF's Articles of Agreement in Washington. The initial quota(A) of Uzbekistan in the IMF is Special Drawing Rights (SDR) 133 million (about US$191 million).
 With the admission of Uzbekistan, the membership of the IMF now totals 171 countries. The total of members' quotas in the IMF is SDR 97,341 million (about US$140,112 million).
 (A) A member's quota in the IMF determines, in particular, its subscription, its voting weight, its access to IMF financing, and its allocation of SDRs.
