UTILX ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE OF CEO

 KENT, Wash., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- UTILX(R) Corp. (NASDAQ: UTLX), the leader in underground utility renovation, today announced that its board of directors has removed John R. Potter from the position of president and chief executive officer. The board of directors has initiated an executive search to identify a replacement president and chief executive officer as quickly as possible. In the interim, Granville W. Holman, recently appointed chairman of the board, will act as president and chief executive officer.
 Holman stated, "UTILX believes its utility markets are recovering and aggressive action is required to build revenues and earnings in our basic FlowMole business, to more quickly introduce our CableCure technology and to move rapidly into the environmental drilling business. We will be seeking a CEO who we believe can move the company forward to accomplish these goals."
 UTILX Corp. provides service for the renovation of underground utilities in the United States and Canada through a network of regional sales and service centers. It also conducts operations in Europe and Asia through its wholly owned subsidiary in the United Kingdom and through business associates in Europe and Asia.
