USX CORPORATION APPOINTS MANAGER-GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS

 WASHINGTON, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott R. Salmon, 30, Arlington, Va., has been appointed manager-governmental affairs, for USX Corporation in Washington, D.C.
 The announcement was made by Marilyn A. Harris, general manager-federal governmental affairs for USX.
 USX is a diversified energy and steel company. Its principal business operations are Marathon Oil Company, U.S. Steel and Delhi Gas Pipeline Corporation.
 Salmon, who holds a bachelor's degree in economics and international affairs from American University and a master's degree in government from Georgetown University, joins USX from the White House staff, where he served as principal deputy for legislative affairs (House) with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
 Salmon has a wide range of government experience. Prior to joining OMB, he served as professional staff member for the Budget Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. Previously, Salmon was an international economist for the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, a country desk officer at the Pentagon for the Department of the Army, and an economist for the Army Corps of Engineers.
