 USW PRESIDENT MEETS WITH ARMCO AND CYCLOPS
 EXECUTIVES TO DISCUSS MERGER, BRIDGEVILLE CLOSING
 PITTSBURGH, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Lynn Williams, president of the United Steelworkers of America (USW), met today with Robert Purdum, chief executive officer of Armco Inc. (NYSE: AS), and James Will, chief executive officer of Cyclops Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYC), to discuss the impact of the proposed merger of the two companies and the announced closing of Cyclops' Bridgeville, Pa., plant, the union said today.
 The meeting lasted about 2-1/2 hours. Also in attendance were two other representatives of each of the companies, and five Steelworker representatives, including Tony Rainaldi, director of USW District 20; David Wilson, director of USW District 8, and Dan Martin, director of USW District 27.
 Afterward, Rainaldi indicated further meetings would be held to determine if there was any realistic possibility of saving the Bridgeville plant, which is located within his district.
 Cyclops announced the plant closing last month.
