 USLIFE CORPORATION HOSTS FINANCIAL COMMUNITY SEMINAR
 NEPTUNE, N.J., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- USLIFE Corporation


(NYSE: USH) today hosted a seminar at its operations center in Neptune for securities analysts, portfolio managers and other members of the financial community who closely follow this major life-insurance holding company. The purpose of this fourth annual meeting was to provide attendees with a clear and thorough understanding of the operations, results and expectations of the USLIFE Companies, as well as discussions on capital management and cash management programs, operational enhancement programs, and USLIFE's investment strategy.
 In his opening remarks, Gordon E. Crosby Jr., chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of USLIFE, commented: "USLIFE Corporation is well-positioned in 1992 as it embarked upon its second quarter century of operations ... or stating it another way, 142 years of uninterrupted, continuous operations based on our origin which traces back to 1850. The purpose of today's meeting is to provide a clear and thorough understanding of our operations and objectives."
 Robert J. Casper, president and chief operating officer of the USLIFE Life Insurance Division, discussed and marketing strategies and accomplishments of the USLIFE Companies thus far in 1992, as well as expectations for the remainder of the year. Mr. Casper provided further insight on plans for new product design, product introductions and marketing support, as well as strategies for expanded field distribution systems.
 Greer F. Henderson, vice chairman and chief financial officer, provided a review of the results of operations for the third quarter of 1992 and an overview of the nine months for the current year, as well as a report on USLIFE's investment portfolio.
 A. Scott Bushey, executive vice president-corporate planning, provided a detailed report on the company's capital management program, and Frank J. Auriemmo Jr., vice president and treasurer, discussed USLIFE's cash management function.
 Christopher S. Ruisi, senior executive vice president- administration, presented an update of the results of the corporation's prior consolidation activities and USLIFE's various operational enhancement programs currently in progress.
 David N. Dunn, executive vice president-group, reviewed the status of employer/employee group accident/health and group life operations, plus the association group operations. He also commented on regulatory and other industry developments which affect that segment of USLIFE's activities.
 The meeting concluded with a summary by Mr. Crosby and an open forum discussion with participating members of the financial community.
 USLIFE Corporation is a life insurance-based holding company whose principal subsidiaries engage in the life insurance business. With nationwide operations, the USLIFE Life Insurance Division has three ordinary life insurance companies and a credit insurance group with approximately $110 billion of life insurance in force as of Sept. 30, 1992. Additionally, there are five other subsidiaries that furnish the life insurance companies with investment advisory, broker-dealer, real estate, data processing and administrative services.
