USAIR TO OFFER FARES AS LOW AS $24.50 AND $44.50 ON FLIGHTS FROM BWI TO CLEVELAND AND CHICAGO

 Frequent Flyer Promotion Offers Free Florida, European Trips
 BALTIMORE, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir will offer one-way fares as low as $24.50 and $44.50, respectively, on expanded flight schedules between Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) and Cleveland and Chicago, beginning Sept. 7. USAir will also offer a Frequent Traveler Program (FT) promotion that will enable members to easily earn free trips to Florida or Europe.
 Beginning Sept. 7, USAir's new fares between BWI and Cleveland will be:
 -- $49: Unrestricted one-way coach fare.
 -- $49: Non-refundable roundtrip fare. Ticket must be purchased within 24 hours of making reservation. Travelers must stay over the first Saturday, if trip begins Monday through Friday, and Sunday if trip begins on Saturday. Maximum stay is 30 days. Service charge of $35 will apply for any changes once ticketed. Seats are limited.
 -- $24.50: One-way fare for travel only on Saturday or Sunday. Seats are limited. No other restrictions apply.
 The same types of fares between BWI and either Chicago O'Hare or Midway Airports will be $89, $89 and $44.50.
 These fares are in addition to USAir's low leisure "Short Hop" fares that were introduced earlier this year in most non-stop BWI markets under 750 miles. USAir's weekend and 14-day advance purchase Short Hop fares range from $49 to $99 each way.
 Members of USAir's FTP program who fly two roundtrips using unrestricted fares between BWI and either Cleveland or Chicago from Sept. 7 to Nov. 30 will receive a free companion ticket for a USAir flight to any point in Florida or to either Paris or Frankfurt, Germany.
 On Sept. 7 USAir will increase daily roundtrip flights between BWI and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport from two to four and between BWI and Cleveland from three to five.
 USAir's full-range of service includes advance seat assignments, reservations through all major airline reservations systems, interline baggage service (automatic transferal of baggage to other carriers on connecting flights), in-flight beverage and meal service and an FT program that offers the fastest free tickets to the most destinations.

 USAir provides a total of 91 jet departures daily at BWI to dozens of destinations throughout the United States, Canada, Bermuda, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom. Its USAir Express affiliates provide another 89 daily flight departures to many other cities.
 The airline employs approximately 2,400 people at BWI. USAir's total economic impact on the state of Maryland is about $1.2 billion annually, the bulk of which is produced by its operation at BWI.
 Also effective Sept. 7 will be the introduction of nonstop flights between BWI and Las Vegas, as well as an expansion of service between BWI and Indianapolis from two to three daily flights and between BWI and Pittsburgh from five to seven daily flights.
 On Nov. 10 USAir will inaugurate new daily nonstop service from BWI to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
