USAIR TO LOWER CALIFORNIA SHUTTLE AND SACRAMENTO FARES AND MAKE FIRST CLASS UPGRADES EASIER TO OBTAIN

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir will lower its excursion fares on the California Shuttle from Los Angeles to San Francisco and between Los Angeles and Sacramento effective Dec. 22.
In these two markets the off-peak, 21-day roundtrip fare will be $98 and the peak fare will be $118. Currently the California shuttle 21-day fare is $118 any time and the Los Angeles-Sacramento fare is $108 off-peak and $118 peak. The peak times apply only on Fridays and Sundays.
The three-day roundtrip excursion fares in these two markets will change to a seven-day advance purchase requirement but the fare will be lowered by 14 percent from $138 to $118 during off-peak times and by 7 percent from $148 to $138 during peak times.
Beginning with these fare changes, all USAir unrestricted walk-up coach fares from Los Angeles to San Francisco and Sacramento will be upgradeable to first class by using one of the following methods: paying the upgrade fee of $60 for each one-way ticket or using one coupon from a USAir First Class Upgrade Coupon Book or a USAir Frequent Traveler Priority Gold upgrade certificate. Prior to Dec. 22, passengers holding certain types of coach fares needed to pay the difference between the coach and first class fare to upgrade.
USAir's California Shuttle hourly service operates daily from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. Between Los Angeles and Sacramento there are four daily nonstop flights.
