USAIR SHUTTLE TO EXPAND SERVICE ON WEEKENDS,
PROVIDING HOURLY SERVICE 7 DAYS A WEEK
JACKSON HEIGHTS, N.Y., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The USAir Shuttle will substantially expand weekend service in its Washington-New York and New York-Boston markets by offering hourly, 7-day-a-week schedules beginning Nov. 15.
"Since starting service April 12, 1992, the USAir Shuttle has taken steps to enhance quality of service to our valued customers and to be a vigorous competitor in the shuttle markets," said Gordon Linkon, president and CEO.
"Over the past few months, we have done just that -- adding more weekend flights, putting first-class legroom in our coach seating configuration on all aircraft, offering Frequent Traveler Program promotions and providing passengers with special weekend fares," he said. "Now, our customers will have the convenience of a full schedule, no matter which day of the week they fly the USAir Shuttle."
On April 1, 1992, the former Trump Shuttle offered 394 weekly departures in its three primary shuttle markets. On June 6, the USAir Shuttle expanded the operation to 406 weekly departures. Under the new schedule, the USAir Shuttle will offer 434 weekly departures.
Linkon said the 7-day-a-week hourly schedule is a result of excellent monthly passenger boardings. "While I cannot provide monthly traffic figures for proprietary reasons, USAir Shuttle traffic and load factors have been consistently higher over the past six months than for any period in the shuttle operation over the past two years," he said.
Here is the new schedule on and after Nov. 15:
 Washington National Airport:
-- Departures to New York LaGuardia Airport every hour from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
 New York LaGuardia Airport:
-- Departures to Boston Logan International Airport at 6:30 a.m. and every hour from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
-- Departures to Washington National Airport every hour from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
 Boston Logan International Airport:
