USAIR OFFERS NEW FALL FARES FOR TRAVEL TO FLORIDA AND WEST COAST THROUGH DEC. 15

ARLINGTON, Va., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir today initiated new fall 14-day advance purchase excursion fares in many transcontinental and Northeast/Midwest-to-Florida markets for travel through Dec. 15.
The new fares are approximately 10-20 percent more than the recent summer sale fares and 30 percent more than similar types of fares offered last fall.
"While these fares are higher than similar fares offered last year and higher than recent summer fares, they still represent good value for leisure travelers," said W. Thomas Lagow, USAir's executive vice president-marketing. "They provide the industry with the potential for reasonable price stability for the remainder of the year."
Prices range from $198(A) to $498 roundtrip and provide a moderate discount off existing 14-day advance purchase fares for the fall travel period.
Fares are nonrefundable, holiday blackout rates do not apply, and they are valid every day of the week. A Saturday night stayover is required.
 Florida Fall Fares:
New fall fares are $238 for nonstop routings from the Northeast and midwest to/from Florida and $278 roundtrip for all connecting routings from the Northeast and Midwest to/from Florida. The $238-$278 fares are for travel through Dec. 15.
Special $198 roundtrip fares -- good for travel through Nov. 15 -- are now available for some nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, West Palm Peach, Fort Myers, Sarasota and Tampa.
Stopovers in Florida may be available for an additional $25, depending on routing.
 Transcontinental Fall Fares:
Fares are $418 roundtrip for most nonstop transcontinental flights and $458 roundtrip for all connecting transcontinental travel through Dec. 15.
These fares are available for travel between most cities in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada and Washington state and East Coast destinations that are 1,000 or more miles away.
Examples include $418 roundtrip for Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) to San Francisco and $458 roundtrip for Rochester to Los Angeles, with a connection in Pittsburgh.
 (A) $198 fares are good for travel through Nov. 15.
