USAIR NEW FLORIDA SHUTTLE FLIGHTS TO TAKE OFF WITH FARES AS LOW AS $49

MIAMI, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning today USAir is offering new fares for as low as $49 each way from the Southern Florida cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach to Orlando and Tampa/St. Petersburg to celebrate its new Florida Shuttle service.
"These are not introductory fares," said J. Daniel Brock, USAir's vice president-marketing services. "USAir has made the commitment to radically change the pricing structure in the south to central Florida markets as part of its overall Florida Shuttle marketing plan."
Seniors and young adults can take advantage of a new $49 unrestricted one-way fare in these markets. To quality, travelers must be 65 years of age or older or between the ages of 12 and 24.
Families can save when traveling these Florida Shuttle flights with children ages 2 through 11 using USAir's new children's fare of only $29 one-way. Children must be accompanied by an adult and only one child per each adult is permitted at this fare.
Weekend travelers can fly at any time on Saturday or Sunday for $79 one way with no advance purchase requirement.
Business travelers will especially find the new 7-day advance purchase one-way fare of $139 attractive since it requires no Saturday night stayover.
Roundtrip excursion fares will be lowered from $240 between Miami and Tampa and from $220 between Miami and Orlando to $158. This excursion fare is non-refundable, requires a Saturday overnight stay and must be purchased seven days in advance of travel.
USAir also has lowered the one-way unrestricted coach and first class fares. The one-way coach fare in both markets has been reduced to $179 and $220 between Miami and Tampa and from $200 between Miami and Orlando. The one-way first class fare is $229 down from $270 between Miami and Tampa and from $250 between Miami and Orlando.
The USAir Florida Shuttle, which will begin on Feb. 1, includes all USAir and USAir Express flights within Florida. A key component of the Florida Shuttle will be USAir's hourly service between Miami and both Tampa and Orlando. Frequent Travelers will earn 1,000 miles per segment on the hourly service as well as a 1,000-mile bonus for a same day roundtrip from Feb. 1 through March 31, 1993.
