USAIR NAMES OLLIE LAWRENCE JR. VICE PRESIDENT-EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATIONS

 ARLINGTON, Va., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Ollie Lawrence Jr. has been elected to the newly created position of vice president-employee communications for USAir.
 Lawrence, who has been with USAir since 1978, has served in several human resources capacities, most recently as assistant vice president-employee relations.
 "We have created the new position of vice president-employee communications to develop even better ways to communicate with and listen to our employees," said USAir Chairman, President and CEO Seth E. Schofield, in announcing Lawrence's appointment. "The success of our recently completed `Ideas That Fly' employee suggestion program is evidence that our employees have very good ideas about improving the ways we do business and we want to enhance communications in this area."
 Lawrence holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and has completed work toward an MBA in human resources at both the University of New Haven and George Washington University.
 In 1990 he was a recipient of the USAir Management Achievement Award and in 1992 received the Black Human Resources Network Minority Human Resources Professional Award.
 Lawrence and his family reside in Springfield, Va.
