USAIR FEARFUL FLYERS CLASS RETURNS TO PHILADELPHIA

USAIR FEARFUL FLYERS CLASS RETURNS TO PHILADELPHIA
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The successful, award-

winning USAir Fearful Flyers Class will be offered again at the Philadelphia International Airport, beginning Sept. 10, 1992.
During the three-hour classes, which meet seven consecutive Thursday evenings, participants will learn about aviation and stress management techniques to overcome their aviaphobia. The class will end Oct. 22, with a one-hour graduation flight where each student is able to bring a guest.
Clinical social worker Carol Stauffer and 40-year veteran pilot Captain Frank Petee, currently USAir director-special projects and the co-pilot on USAir's first passenger flight in 1949, provide students professional expertise and instruction.
USAir's Fearful Flyer Program was developed in 1975 as a result of the number of people who are afraid of flying. Boeing Aircraft Corporation estimates that one out of every six Americans is afraid of flying.
Since the program's inception, nearly 3,000 participants have enrolled in the course and 97 percent have successfully overcome their phobia. Classes have been held in numerous cities throughout the United States, including Philadelphia.
Anyone interested in taking the course should contact USAir at 412-366-8112, or USAir's local sales office in Philadelphia at 215-521-5661.
