USAIR EXPRESS SERVICE RESTORED IN CALIFORNIA MARKETS

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir Express Service will resume Monday, Oct. 18, in many California markets. The service was interrupted Friday when StatesWest Airlines of Phoenix, an independent carrier which had a marketing agreement with USAir Express to operate flights, announced it would cease operations.
Beginning Monday, the new schedule will include service from Los Angeles to: Fresno (five daily flights), Monterey (five daily flights), Ontario (three daily flights), Palm Springs (three daily flights), San Diego (one daily flight), Santa Barbara (four daily flights) and Orange County (three daily flights). The Orange County service is subject to airport approval this week.
Jetstream International, a wholly owned subsidiary of USAir Group, Inc. (NYSE: U), will operate those flights until a permanent replacement carrier is named in late October.
Service between San Francisco and Fresno, Monterey and Sacramento will be restored as early as Dec. 15.
"We thank all of our passengers for keeping their business with USAir Express as we developed this new schedule," said Keith Houk, vice president of USAir Express.
Employees at all airport locations are on hand to handle further re- booking requests. In addition, travelers may call USAir Express at 800-428-4322 or their travel agents for schedule information and bookings.
