USAIR ANNOUNCES NEW TRIPLE PLAY PLUS PROGRAM FOR ITS FREQUENT TRAVELERS

ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir will offer its popular Triple Play Plus program to members of its Frequent Traveler Program enabling them to earn free travel, confirmed First Class upgrades, additional bonus mileage, discounted companion fares and even a ticket to Europe.
To qualify for Triple Play Plus awards, FTP members can either fly eight segments on USAir, its USAir Express affiliates or the USAir Shuttle between Jan. 4 and April 2, 1993, or accumulate a total of 12,000 credit miles during the same period. Minimum fare paid must be $50 per segment to qualify for the Triple Play awards.
"USAir's Triple Play was so popular with our customers last fall, we have decided to implement a similar program for 1993," said W. Thomas Lagow, USAir's executive vice president-marketing.
In addition to being credited with regular mileage, qualifying FTP members will earn the right to select from one of three Triple Play Plus awards:
 1. One free ticket valid for travel in North America plus the
option to purchase a companion ticket for $200.
 2. Eleven confirmed space First Class upgrades.
 3. Ten thousand Frequent Traveler Miles credited to the member's
 account with no expiration date.
A Grand Slam Bonus, which will be available for members qualifying for two certificates -- 16 segments or 24,000 miles, will be a free ticket to a USAir European destination plus the option to purchase a companion ticket for $300.
Free travel will be valid between Sept. 1 and Dec. 22, 1993, and subject to certain blackout dates and capacity controls. A Saturday night stayover will be required.
