 USAIR AND USAIR EXPRESS ANNOUNCE FLORIDA,
 NORTHEAST EXPANSION FOR MAY 1
 ARLINGTON, Va., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir and its USAir Express affiliates today announced increases in flight schedules at Orlando, Fla., and new service to St. Petersburg, Fla., to be effective May 1.
 The expansion follows last week's announcement of increased service at several key northeastern cities which include new flights to Florida.
 At Orlando, USAir and USAir Express will increase service by 31 percent from 55 to 72 daily departures May 1. Included will be new nonstop flights to seven cities -- Hartford, Washington, Newark, West Palm Beach, Ft. Myers, Melbourne and St. Petersburg. USAir will also double jet flights between Orlando and New York's LaGuardia Airport from two to four daily roundtrips.
 USAir Express will introduce service for the first time at St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport May 1 with four daily flights to Orlando and two to Jacksonville. Express service will be operated by FlordiaGulf Airlines under a marketing agreement with USAir.
 "Florida is a very important market for USAir, and we will continue to expand our presence with increased intra-state service," said Seth E. Schofield, USAir president and CEO. "We will also continue to look for new ways to link Florida markets with our key northeastern and middle-Atlantic markets, which are the heart of the USAir system."
 Previously announced as part of USAir's May 1 schedule expansion are:
 -- NEW YORK/NEWARK: Daily flight total at LaGuardia Airport will go from 134 to 162. Included will be new nonstops from LaGuardia to Cincinnati and Ft. Myers and additional flights to Albany; Bermuda; Buffalo; Baltimore; Charleston, S.C.; Cleveland; Columbus; Fort Lauderdale; Orlando; Miami; New Orleans; West Palm Beach; Rochester; Syracuse; and Tampa. Three new flights will be offered between Newark and Orlando and daily flights between Newark and Raleigh- Durham will be increased from three to four.
 BOSTON: Total daily USAir and USAir Express flights will increase from 123 to 134 with the introduction of new hourly flights between Boston and Philadelphia, expansion of current Boston- Washington hourly flights and additional flights between Boston and Indianapolis, Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
 WASHINGTON: Three new daily roundtrips between Washington National Airport and Orlando will begin May 1.
 PHILADELPHIA: Daily flight total will increase from 283 to 295, including new flights to Nassau, new jet flights to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and additional service to Bermuda; Indianapolis; Jacksonville; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Montreal; Norfolk; Portland, Maine; Richmond; and Worcester.
 PITTSBURGH: USAir and USAir Express flights will increase from 482 to 505 daily, making Pittsburgh the largest hub in terms of total daily flight departures on the USAir 40-state system. Contributing to the increase are new nonstop flights between Pittsburgh and Jacksonville, New Haven, White Plains and Wichita.
