Opinion: Stephens Inc. (10/26/92)

"USA Truck reported a very strong third quarter with EPS up 39 percent to $0.26 versus $0.19 in the same quarter a year ago on a 35 percent increase in shares. Utilization gains continue to drive revenues at a faster pace than equipment additions. The operating ratio improved to 85.5 percent from 87.1 percent. Operating income increased 35 percent while interest savings pushed net income up 88 percent. We believe that USA's earnings gains quarter after quarter will begin to catch the eye of more investors. We are adding a short-term buy recommendation to our long-term capital appreciation recommendation for aggressive accounts."
