US postal worker has killer anthrax.

A WOMAN postal worker in New Jersey has inhalation anthrax, it was confirmed last night.

It is the most serious form of the disease that has claimed three lives.

Thousands of postal workers and others who deal with large amounts of mail are being urged to take preventive antibiotics.

It is feared that mail with anthrax inside may be lying around sorting offices in New Jersey and Washington DC, where the danger spores have already been found.

Meanwhile, staff from a New York newspaper targeted by a hoax anthrax letter from Glasgow didn't believe anyone in Scotland could be warped enough for such a stunt.

The letter sent to the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, New York, is one of five letters from Scotland at the centre of an anthrax scare.
