19 July 2017 - Two California, US-based nonprofit agencies that support families with children facing learning challenges, Parents Education Network (PEN) and CHC, have agreed to join forces to expand services across a wider geographic area, the companies said.
Terms were not disclosed.
All PEN signature programmes will become part of CHC, adding to its range of education and mental health services to families across California's San Francisco Bay area.
Services include parent education, parent support groups, Student Advisors for Education and the EdRev Conference.
There will be no leadership changes to CHC as a result of this combination and all PEN programs will be incorporated into CHC's community education and engagement division.
PEN said bringing PEN and CHC together accomplishes the organisation's long term strategic plan to grow and scale services offering greater access to a broader range of services for area families.
As PEN and CHC join forces, families will have access to comprehensive support that now includes two specialised schools, evaluations, therapy, parent education, parent support groups, the EdRev Conference, continued support for students through the SAFE program and teacher and behavioral healthcare professional education.
